The Day When Gmail Was Caught Nude In Public

February 5, 2009 by Raj Agrawal 11 Comments

Oh yes, there’s proof!

It all happened when Firefox was on it’s way to display my Gmail Inbox, but instead of displaying the usual Gmail inbox page, the browser landed in Gmail’s FTP directory. I found it interesting to peep in a little bit, because not only is this unusual, it was also fascinating enough to give me an adrenaline rush!

What’s surprising is that Gmail was in this state for a long 10 – 12 minutes and generally, this could happen due to a couple of technical reasons. Oh and did you see the third screen shot? I wonder what were those for.

really interesting! I hope google does its development online… :). As in most of the cases there are test environments, and then production! I would also like to see such things on my gmail…but that would be my luck!

    To SuperBlogTips-
True, this means that Google is at its toes for keeping its products up to date and as a result, some of the updates go buggy at times.

    To Tejaswini-
Yes, it is a matter of luck and time when you witness these interesting situations.

Oh! blame my browser for the misunderstanding. I did not mean to be offensive at all. My browser goofed up and is not displaying emoticons at all and which changed the meaning of your comment "I'm feeling more and more techno-greeky after reading all of this!!!"

If you have any questions regarding any portion of this article, feel free to drop in your comment.. 🙂
